Experience thrilling wildlife encounters, from tracking chimpanzees and gorillas to spotting tree-climbing lions, all while immersing yourself in Uganda’s vibrant culture.
Sample itinerary:
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast in Entebbe, you will set off for Murchison Falls National Park, stopping at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to track Uganda’s only wild rhinos. Enjoy lunch at Kabalega Dinners before continuing to Murchison falls national park checking in at you lodge, have dinner and overnight relaxation in the middle of the wilderness
Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
Start your day with an exhilarating morning game drive, where you may encounter elephants, lions, Rothschild’s giraffes, and leopards. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, observing hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species along the way.
Day 3: Top of fall and Transfer to Kibale
After breakfast, check out and drive to the top of Murchison Falls for breathtaking views. Then, embark on a scenic drive to Kibale National Park, known as the world’s Primate Capital. Check in at your lodge and prepare for chimpanzee tracking the next day.
Day 4: Chimp Tracking in Kibale
Following breakfast, head into Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking. Besides chimps, you may spot other primates like black-and-white colobus monkeys and Vervet monkeys. After lunch and a rest at the lodge, consider a visit to nearby crater lakes or engage with a local vanilla farmer.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Check out and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. After lunch, take an afternoon boat trip along the Kazinga Channel, renowned for its high concentration of hippos and other wildlife, including crocodiles and elephants. You’ll also visit a local salt lake used for traditional salt mining.
Day 6: Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Look for elephants, lions, and various antelope species. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax for the afternoon.
Day 7: Ishasha Sector for Tree-Climbing Lions
Check out and drive to the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. After lunch, spend the afternoon at leisure before heading out for an evening game drive in search of these unique lions and other wildlife.
Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. Optionally, you can visit a local Batwa/Pygmy community for a cultural experience.
Day 9: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Get ready for an unforgettable gorilla tracking experience after a briefing from your ranger guide. Trek through the forest, where you may encounter forest elephants, buffaloes, and duikers. Enjoy an hour with the gorillas before returning to your lodge for lunch.
Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After your gorilla adventure, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, a stunning destination with 29 islands. You can choose to explore the islands by canoe, relax at your lodge, or visit local cultural sites.
Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you can opt for a bike or horseback ride to experience local cattle-rearing communities and traditional milking processes.
Day 12: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Entebbe
On your final day, enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park, where you can spot zebras, giraffes, and more. After the drive, head back to Entebbe with a stop at the equator for a water experiment demonstration.
