Overview:

Embark on an unforgettable four-day journey through the stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity of Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park. This carefully curated tour combines wildlife experiences with cultural insights, allowing you to connect with nature and local traditions.

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Nkuruba Nature Reserve

Your adventure begins with a pickup from Entebbe or Kampala, followed by a scenic drive to Fort Portal. Upon arrival at Nkuruba Nature Reserve, check in to your lodge, where you can enjoy the serene surroundings. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to spot four species of monkeys, including the playful Vervet and white colobus monkeys.

In the afternoon, explore the beautiful crater lakes nearby or join a fascinating coffee tour to learn about the local coffee production process. Relax at your lodge with the option for a refreshing swim in the tranquil waters of Nkuruba Crater Lake.

Day 2: Explore the Crater Lakes and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning at your lodge, soaking in the natural beauty of the reserve. In the afternoon, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. En route, stop at the Kikorongo equator mark for memorable photos and a fun water experiment showcasing the effects of the equator on water flow.

Arriving in the early afternoon, check in at your lodge, followed by lunch. Later, embark on an afternoon boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, where you’ll have the chance to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and buffaloes, along with an array of bird species.

In the evening, enjoy a game drive in search of the park’s big cats, Uganda kobs, and hyenas. Return to your lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Tree Climbing Lions

Start your day with an early morning breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive. This early hour is perfect for spotting wildlife, particularly the big cats, as they take advantage of the cool temperatures to hunt.

After the game drive, embark on a two-hour drive to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a game drive in search of these majestic creatures before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Visit Katwe Salt Lake and Return to Fort Portal

After breakfast, check out and drive to Katwe Salt Lake, where traditional methods of salt extraction have been practiced for generations. Learn about the local salt mining community and the significance of salt in their culture.

Following your visit, transfer back to Fort Portal City and check in at a hotel. In the evening, explore the vibrant nightlife, offering a real local experience before returning to your accommodation.
