Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park where silver and gold meets.
Your adventure begins with a morning transfer to Mgahinga National Park, Uganda’s smallest but most picturesque national park. Nestled among three majestic Virunga volcanoes—Muhavura, Gahinga, and Sabinyo—this park is not only home to mountain gorillas but also to the playful golden monkeys. After checking in at your accommodation, enjoy dinner and prepare for the thrilling experiences ahead.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Day
After breakfast, you’ll receive a briefing from your ranger guide before embarking on your gorilla trekking adventure. This unforgettable experience lasts between 2-5 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. While the mountain gorillas are the stars of the park, you’ll also have the chance to observe endemic birds, reptiles, and other wildlife. After a heartwarming encounter with the gorillas, we’ll journey to Lake Bunyonyi, famously known as the “Switzerland of Uganda,” renowned for its stunning beauty and rich avian diversity.
Day 3: Canoe Ride and Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Start your day with a serene canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi, exploring its 29 islands, each with unique histories, such as Akampene Island and Dr. Sharp’s Island. After breakfast, we’ll transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, with a potential stop at the Igongo Cultural Museum for lunch. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to enjoy an evening game drive before checking in at your accommodation.
Day 4: Experience Lake Mburo
Immerse yourself in the stunning natural beauty of Lake Mburo National Park. Choose between a guided nature walk or a bicycle safari for a close encounter with wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, and impalas. Capture unforgettable memories as you explore the park with an experienced ranger. After your morning adventure, return to your lodge for lunch, relaxation, and dinner.
Day 5: Transfer to Entebbe
After breakfast, check out and embark on your journey back to Entebbe. As you exit Lake Mburo National Park, keep your eyes peeled for zebras, impalas, and a variety of bird species, including the Green Wood Hoopoe and Brown Parrots. Enjoy a stopover at the equator for a unique photo opportunity and some souvenir shopping before concluding your remarkable Ugandan adventure.
