Our Heritage

The Heart of the Rift: Our Story

Journey into the soul of East Africa with the pioneers of community-driven conservation travel.

About Us

From Local Walking Tours to Unforgettable Uganda Safaris

Our journey began with guided walks around the breathtaking Crater Lakes of Fort Portal and the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. Based at Nkuruba Nature Reserve & Community Campsite, a community-led conservation area that has protected nature and welcomed travelers for nearly three decades, we introduced visitors to the landscapes, wildlife, and communities we proudly call home.

As more travelers discovered our tours, they wanted to experience more of Uganda. What began as simple nature walks gradually grew into tailor-made safaris, inspired by our guests' curiosity and our passion for sharing the country's extraordinary diversity.

Today, Nkuruba Community Tours designs authentic journeys across Uganda—from gorilla trekking and chimpanzee encounters to savannah safaris, crater lakes, and meaningful cultural experiences. Every itinerary is shaped by local knowledge, responsible tourism, and a commitment to conservation and community, ensuring that every journey leaves a positive impact on both our guests and the places they visit.

When you travel with us, you don't just visit Uganda—you experience it.
